Last night we had another department to celebrate the resignation of 2 of my colleagues. Now many people always thinking of getting  better job better prospect outside than our current one.

We went to a seafood restaurant – Long Beach for our farewell dinner, at East Coast. It is the place where people goes there for exercise as well, rollerblading, cycling, running, joggings..

We had a sumptious dinner with chilli crab and fried bun, steam prawns, tofu, roasted chicken, vegetables, fried you zha kuai, baby squid and otak otak.. yummy..While enjoying our dinner my colleague passed around her phone where she store some of her wedding photograph that she took at Batam.

We conclude the night with drinks at another venue nearby to the restaurant. It was quite a fun night and we manage to go home around 1am plus – considering is quite early comparing to the other earlier weeks outings where we go home at 4am! But one thing good bout last night outing is that I don’t need to work this morning.. yay!

Away from home.. April 21, 2008

Most people here to get away from the routine, sometimes we just take a short break by renting a chalet in Singapore just for a short domestic break. Some people celebrate their birthday here, some just take it as a gathering, a family gathering. This is the time they barbeque, have fun, play games, some play mahjong together with their friends, relatives and family members.

Last weekend, my housemate had a 3 night free at the Costa Sands Chalet by their company, they had the chalet since Thursday night up till Sunday. Last Saturday I went over to join them for the last night. They had another 3 other friends over and was quite a quiet affair, eating and just another session of catching ups. They are my housemates secondary school mates..Played some cards at night till 2am (No money involve.. lucky.. )

But when you see the neighbouring chalet, they have groups of friends, having barbeque and some open table - playing mahjong! But it gets quite irritating at night especially when they are ”pong” or “kong” or ”kau” so loud, while we are trying to sleep. These type of activities, should be organized when you have many people coming over and just have fun!

Without saying, majority of people are all youngsters and families! So in the morning you see young children running around, screaming their lungs out.. It was quite a nice get-a-little away from home.. haha..

After we check out on Sunday morning, by the time we get back, is time to crash on our bed… hmm.. nothing like our bed. But unfortunately, I had another meeting with my friend at AMK in the evening, I can’t sleep too long and after just 3 hours sleep, I got up and get ready to go out.. That day was also the first time I went for a stroll at a park with my friend near the AMK mrt station. Lucky I get to come back early and able to catch up on my sleep early that night.

Many people always says.. Ladies are so troublesome, so many activities, so many ways to use money - Majority are into Shopping, Movies, drinks, manicures, pedicures, hair treatments and nowadays a trend among all ladies.. waxing! Its not just those waxing on the leg or underarms.. but now people go for brazilian waxing – hei.. they even have brazilian waxing for guys k.. not just for ladies. Nowadays, guys are getting more vain than ladies as well.. so stop complaining bout us ladies k.. those gentlemen out there!

After a couple of years of contemplating on whether to do it or not, I finally bucked up my courage and together with my another colleague, we decided to just go ahead with it last night. After overcoming an initial fear and the thought of the pain that we would be facing, we were shown into individual rooms.

The therapist that did it for me was very good and very knowledgable. She patiently guided me thru the whole process even with the embarrassing squick that I made during the session. But after the entire event, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it will be. The pain was still bearable, however unfortunately for my colleague, her therapist wasn’t that good and did not pre-warn her in advance and she had a shock when her therapist just start the process.

After we get out from the place, we really feel a bit different than before.. hmm .. but do I want to do it again.. still thinking and considering.. Should I and should i not.. hmm… lets ponder a while more..

A Relaxing Weekend.. April 13, 2008

Each of us have our own ideal weekend, some likes to fill it with activities. For me, I would like to have a mixture, some weekends with activities and some just rest and relax at home. Of course now with my sidelines,  my weekends will get more busy (hopefully, coz it means I got business!).

This weekend is just what I required, staying at home and doing what I want to do – catching up on my reading, playing games, listening to music. Yesterday, got a yearning for some exercise actually wanted to ask my housemate to play badminton but she wasn’t feeling well, at the end, went swimming with another room mate.. After so long never swim, figured all my staminar is all gone.. But the pool was so crowded with students, parents and kids even in the deep pool!

Looks like swimming is becoming a family outing… Sigh tomorrow is Monday.. oh no! Back to office.. It’s a starting of a new week and hope it will be another exciting week! :)

Pleaseee don kill me..

Everyone always says Singapore is a safe country. But these days the crime rates has been increasing due to the increase of foreign workers coming to Singapore. People from China, Philippines, Thailand, India, Vietnam and even Myanmar all came down to try to find their fortune in this small little island. This will makes Singapore from a safe country to a not so safe country anymore. Now with the terrorist threat and only bout 2 months ago a highly intelligent guy who was the head of the team to bomb Changi Airport escaped from his detention centre and up till now is still not found.. This makes it wonder how is the security of this country becoming to be?

Just last night my housemate has a frightening experience. Due to their room is just facing the corridoor, while they are lying down on their bed watching the tv, out of the suddenly when she look up to her window, she saw a guy face looking into their room.. She was so shocked and was stun for a moment before yelling out..

Found out from the neighbour is that the guy is not very tall and was wearing an office attire. Geez.. really wonder what is he looking at and what is the motive behind? to steal their belonging or even worse? This really shaken us up.. when you think bout it, this is really scary. In this house, there are only 4 ladies… if they are targeting at us.. really can’t imagine how it will be..

But also because of this incident my aunt started reprimanding and ask me not to come back too late… Just because there are a couple of nights in the past 2 weeks i came back in the wee hours. My thinking is that if you are really that unlucky that you are to make a victim, no matter how much security you put, you will still encounter them.

Of course, in saying that, I do not mean to put myself as the bait and to invite trouble! I will try not to stay till too late but sometimes I do have some entertainment or obligation that I need to fulfill… Don’t worry mum and dad not everyone I will attend as well.. I can hear you telling me you do not need to attend all. Only those that are compulsory ones… or those that I really wish to go.

With all these incidents.. do you ever wonder, how safe is Singapore now?

Every morning when we get up, we have 2 choices, do we want to be happy today or unhappy? Many things that makes us unhappy, not satisfied or happy and being contented to what we have is the matter of our mindset. Our brain is the most amazing organ, it can change our views/perspective easily, much depends on our will power and whether do we want to change it or not. This will also determine whether you are broad or narrow minded.

Most of us we tend to be bothered by small tiny things… that will bring the sadness, the irritation or the bitterness to their mood. It can be just one call when the customers just say something that irritated you, or just probably one little things that was placed on your desk that you find it out of place (which you might be culprit who put it there in the first place!) or just an action created by someone else.

But sometimes I realized, I myself are easily influence by other persons. But in some cases, there are days that I feel so tired that I could not be bothered with anything.. just do my basic requirements in my job, in my daily chore, and during these days I will be:  Everything couldn’t be bothered.. don’t tell me! Not bothered to know!

But In some aspect of my life, I am more or less a happy go lucky person. Somethings that people do, as long as they do not harm or in my way, I don’t really care what they do… however, I do realize not everyone has the same thinking as me.. example my aunt just cannot stand my landlord for coming to the house to clean on some days. sigh.. I always have to keep reasoning with her to let her be.. to keep putting some good words for the landlord.. but to think bout it I always be the good person even during schooling days always trying to find the possitive side of the situation or the people.
