GSS shopping Pt 2 May 30, 2008

Ok ok… i know in my previous email I wrote saying that I am not contributing to the GSS this year anymore.. But looks like that did not happen, as today I clear my off-in-lieu to compensate me for working on Labour day. Accompanied my aunt to Sengkang and Hougang to do some of her errands. Ended up, I did somemore shopping again…

Got myself a small bag to put my phones, purse and card folder into my big bag since that bag has no compartment, therefore I have to create my own for me to easily find my things. Sometimes carry such a big bag is not such a good idea if you have a lot of small small things, as looking for the things is a huge headache.

Other than that, I got myself 2 pairs of slippers. They are very nice and very light. So I am going to keep one for travelling as it will come in handy especially if I go to places with beach. Other than that, I got a some dvd korean series and some things for my laptop – a mini vaccum and a screen protector and some hair accessories..  

Ok .. hope I will stop there, there should be nothing else I require anymore… Don’t tempt me, please… urgh..

Shopping.. May 30, 2008

Now you will fnd that many tourist are flocking into Singapore. This is an annual affair where this is the time where all retailers, hotels, restaurants are taking advantages of. It is usually happens at the end of May up till end of June… Well.. it is the Great Singapore Sales! Eventhough has been said this year might not be a good year, but nevertheless, Singaporeans will always give their continuous support to their economy. No matter how bad is their economy, their citizen still spends!

Well normally I don’t play a part in the contribution in the success of GSS but this year, when the GSS starts on the 23 May 2008, I am one of the first to contribute. This is because I have some insider news that there will be an offer during GSS for this particular product, which makes me wait for GSS to purchase it..   It is the CooperVision ProClear daily contact lens. Apparently, this is much better than the Johnson & Johnson Acuvue Moist, which I personally have not tried it yet. The one that I have been wearing are just the normal daily lens. The offer is buy 3 packets and get one free, which makes it about $45 a box for 30 lens in each.

Hmm.. shall finish my old stock first before give this new brand a try. Other than that, because the normal bag that I use for work is torn at the sides and is very unsightly to bring it out to meet client, don’t want to give the impression that I am so cheapscate, I manage to get one from G2000, which looks formal and big enough to put my documents as well as to dump all my barang barang inside.

And.. not forgeting my books!  Borders had a discount of 3 books for the price of 2. Bought a novel from my favourite author and 02 more investment books: 1) Guide to Investing by Robert T.Kiyosaki 2) why we want you to be rich by David J. Trump and Robert T. Kiyosaki. I haven’t even finish his 2nd book of Cashflow Quadrant and I have already bought 2 more. Really like i got the money to invest like that.. haha.. Just my way of trying  to be rich!

If comparing to other people, what I bought is not much, but to me.. my quota is filled, I have bought what I need and even bough a couple that I want. So I shall not be tempted by GSS this year and if anthing else that I require, I shall wait for the sale next year! Can’t spend it all, can I? Control… hmm… hei.. that thing looks interesting.. haha.. just kidding..

The festive season of giving and forgiving is just around the corner, now many people are scattering around buying Christmas gift for their children, family members, relatives, friends and even colleagues..

However for my office we used to have organize a Christmas party at our office where we will invite our other colleagues from the other department. Each of us will bring an item to the office: food, drinks, snacks and etc.. We will also have gift exchange where we draw lots and see who we picked. However, last year we did not manage to follow the trend due to many were not around during the festive seasons. So at the end last year we buy presents for everyone!

Not sure how we going to do it this year round.. No matter whether we buy for everyone or drawing lots, ultimately we will still end up buying for everyone. This is where the headache will comes as it is very hard to buy presents for everyone, the unknown likes and dislikes.. the challenge of it that makes it fun I guess.. but then this is the only time we do it.. or we can take this opportunity to go Shopping!

These few days.. has been feeling very lazy.. I had stop writing a few days.. hehe.. Now I am back! Hopefully keep it that way!

I was out on my sales call one day at Raffles Place and I remembered one of my clients once told me about a very interesting shop that she found around the area.. Since it is during my lunch break, I decided to hunt down the shop..
Oh there it is.. My Blood Type Shore

This store sells a lot of healthy snacks and drinks. Each snacks and drinks has indication on it whether which blood type is suitable and which is not.. same for the drinks also.. Each blood type got 2 types somemore.. one can absort something and the other cannot.. very “chimalogy” In order to know which type of Blood O you are have to go for blood test somemore..

Hmm… what i think is that life is short.. enjoy while you can.. eat what you want, do what you want and live life to the fullest and try not to have any regrets in your life.. Not much meaning in life if living your life by restricting yourself from eating/doing what you enjoy. Moderation is the key of everything.. don’t yar agree?

Nowadays, a lot of companies are deperate for money!

When we walk down the Orchard Road and anywhere in town, first thing that you will notice are all the marketing gimmic.. from posters, tv ads, flyers to foot print stickers that was on the floor. Some of these marketing, they will offer special discounts to the people in order to attract them to buy their purchases or services. Is it a really good deal?

I have noticed this when we signed up for our yoga packages with one of the yoga centers in Orchard. “Oh this is a good offers.. must sign up today only you get this price.. the commitment is for 24 months…” thinking that I need to increase my exercise, so I took up the package. But little did I know that that was just the starting point.

After that, asking us to give names as the part of referrals and by giving the names, we will be given spa vouchers. They are all a couple of $100 vouchers and one $500 vouchers. However, here comes the catch.. You need to spend at least $300 at the spa in order to use the vouchers, which means you still have to pay $200 and as for the $500 vouchers, they require a package purchase of at least $800, so you have to fork out the remaining $300!

I suddenly have a feeling like being cheated. Why give you vouchers but you still need to pay? Yes, if you think from their business point of view, it is to encourage people to spend more at the spa. But for the consumer part, I personally don’t feel that it is generous enough..

So in future, if you come across such offers, better consider a few times to determine if it is really a good deal..

Laundry… July 24, 2007

A lot of people always has the perception that when you are given laundry privileges is a bonus for you..

Yes it may be true in some points.. You don’t need to do the washing, drying and well the ironing of your clothes. Also need not worry for those suits/jacket that require dry-cleaning. Before, clothes only come with either hand washed or can be machine washed. Then comes the dry-cleaning clothes..

For me, before having the laundry benefits, heck with the labels.. everything just thrown into the machine.. and some delicates ones, I will hand washed it myself.

Well.. ever since I have the laundry benefits, initially I thought that ..hei it is cool.. no need to do my own laundry anymore..YIPPEE!

Yes I don’t need to anymore but all my clothes after being sent to a few rounds of dry-cleaning it came back with loose stitches, buttons, seams torn and jacket and pants inner lining all but being torn to shreds. So you save on your laundry but you have to either sew it yourself or send to the seamstress or throw and buy new ones!

Well but if we think another way, its a good excuse for us to go shopping right? … so anyone interested to go shopping….?
